My name is Lisa Crawford. I’m a career communications professional, publicist, and writer. I’ve been a political staffer, a government communications expert, an entertainment publicist, and a tech industry marketer and copywriter. As a consultant, I’ve synthesized these experiences into one comprehensive set of communications, marketing, and strategy skills.

I’m based in Los Angeles, with the ability to work in the United States and Canada.

Brand Messaging

I love collaborating with clients to develop a new brand and the messaging behind it - a process of dialogue to tease out the brand’s true mission, hone in on a compelling personality, and construct a unique brand voice. My brand development and messaging projects result in growing businesses and more motivated teams.

 

Copywriting

I get a ton of satisfaction out of finding the right words. Writing is an activity made of equal parts creativity and precision. Whether it’s a website, a press kit, an op-ed, or an annual report, I’ve proudly developed copy that inspires, motivates, and sells. (Yes, I do believe in the Oxford comma.)

 

Corporate Communications

I know corporate communications with the certainty and confidence that come with 15+ years in the discipline. From serving as the architect of political communication designed to influence the public, change policy, and get candidates elected, to building long-game executive visibility campaigns for entertainment executives, corp comms is at the core of my experience. My toolbox includes firsthand knowledge of navigating crisis and internal comms.

 

Public Relations

I’ve loved working with the media since my time managing press scrums with politicians on Canada’s Parliament Hill. Building relationships with press, developing compelling pitches and story narratives, and facilitating fruitful interaction with clients are points of pride. My clients have excellent coverage across national, entertainment, and tech media to show for it.
